The PILLAR-Robots project is reaching its grand finale, and we are working for our Final Workshop to be hosted at the AI, Data and Robotics Forum (ADRF 2026) in Porto, Portugal. Taking place from October 13–15, 2026, this flagship event will serve as the ultimate platform to showcase four years of groundbreaking research in purposeful autonomous robots and lifelong learning.
AI and Robotics Innovation in Porto
Organized by INESC TEC, ADRF 2026 will bring together over 500 experts to discuss the future of European AI and robotics. For PILLAR-Robots, this is the perfect stage to present our final results to a community of policymakers, industry leaders, and researchers.
Our presence will center around a joint final workshop. This collaborative approach has been a hallmark of our project, ensuring that our breakthroughs in mobile manipulation and cognitive architectures are shared and amplified across the European research landscape.
Presenting the Results: From Lab to Real-World Purpose
Throughout the project, PILLAR-Robots has focused on developing a new generation of robots capable of determining their own goals and strategies through Purposeful Intrinsically Motivated Lifelong Learning. At the Final Event, we will present the full spectrum of our achievements across three key domains: agrifood, industry and edutainment.
The cornerstone of this work is our Cognitive Robotic Architecture, which integrates motivational systems and learning algorithms to foster autonomous goal-setting and skill acquisition.
Join Us at the Finish Line
As PILLAR-Robots concludes its journey, the ADRF Final Event represents our transition from research to impact. We invite all ADRF attendees to join our workshop, explore our demonstrations, and engage with the researchers who are pushing the boundaries of what autonomous robots can achieve.
